Incorporated back in the 1780s, this community nested in between Dillon, Marlboro, Hoke, Cumberland, and Bladen Counties; has a very willing and hardworking spirit constantly in search of better and higher horizons for all its kids. With a bit more than 950 square miles of extension, Robeson County was born from portions of Bladen, Columbus, Cumberland, Hoke, and Scotland Counties. Native Americans lived in this land previously the process of colonizations, back in those days the Siouan, the Keyauwee, and the Cheraw tribes were one with the earth and the universe. Lumberton is the only city in this territory divided into more than 45 municipalities and towns including Rennert, Red Springs, Rowland, Rex, Shannon, Elrod, Baker Ten Mile, and Marietta.
