Cooperstown District Court

Cooperstown District Court is the district court of Griggs county in North Dakota's Southeast judicial district.

Around 1879, fully two years before Griggs formally became a county, settlers were coming to the area. At first the county consisted of what today is Griggs county and the Western part of Steele county. A contention for the selection of the county seat between Cooperstown and Hope resulted in Steele county being separated from Griggs. The Prairie Garden, with its indigenous plants and rocks from around the county is located on the grounds of the Griggs County courthouse. The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile site, a short distance North of Cooperstown, consists of the Oscar-Zero Missile Alert Facility and the November-33 Launch Facility. They are the remainders of a cluster of intercontinental ballistic missile launch sites which were functional during the Cold war. In the buildings which make up the Griggs county museum you can see exhibits dealing with the Northern Plains Cold War Interpretive center, Veteran's center, Busy Little Farm, Mosasaurs, Pioneer Main Street, Pioneer Village and Pioneer clothing.
