Chappell County Court is the county court of Deuel county in the Twelfth County Court judicial district of Nebraska. Swooping across the Southern part of Deuel county in parallel with US 30 and US 385, IS 80 meets SR 27, US 138 and SR 25B.

About the area

The geography of Deuel county was shaped by the Union Pacific railroad and two elections; one of which separated it from Cheyenne county and another when a significant part of the county became Garden county. When lumber, rails, and other supplies were sent from Omaha to this area to complete the railroad to the area ; they were marked “Send this to Chappell.” for the railroad man who was responsible for building the depot and the name stuck. Something you will see if you pass this city on IS 80 is the largest flag largest flag in the state of Nebraska painted on the side of Farmer’s elevator. Each June is the time for the Flag day celebration which is marked by a parade, auctions, a craft fair and the antique tractor pull.
