There are two courts located in Thurston County Courthouse; the county court and the district court (Box 216). They are each in their respective Sixth judicial district of Nebraska. Can't promise rolling hills but you will get through much of Thurston county on US 75, US 77, SR 9 or SR 16.

About the area

Before Nebraska was established as a state, Thurston county was part of a reservation set aside by the United States government for the Omaha Indian tribe. However, the government opened the reservation to settlers around 1884 setting the stage for the establishment of the county. To this day there is a controversy regarding the location of Pender with regard to the Omaha Indian reservation. There are three outdoor recreational venues in Pender; the city park, the municipal swimming pool and the Village of Pender campground. The campground has 18 sites with electrical, water and sewer hookups.
