About the area
The eastern part of the town is part of White Mountain National Forest. The town is at the junction of US312 along the Israel River. Reverend Joshua Week, a grantee of the town, was one of the explorers who named the mountains of the Presidential Range. First week in September features the Lancaster Fair which has been held continuously since 1871.
