Gloucester Township was once a part of Gloucester County. But today, it is in Camden County and borders Gloucester County. Glendora and Blackwood are sections of the township. Blackwood houses the Municipal Court while Glendora houses the historic Gabreil Daveis Tavern House which is believed to have been built in mid 1700s. The Tavern is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Other historic places include the Chew-Powell House built in late 1600s and the Marquadant-Johnson Farm House built in early 1700s. An aggressive economic reform program resulted in a facelift of many unnoticed areas. Today, it proudly houses many small businesses and big industries. US Rt 30 and County Routes 42 and 683 are the major routes in the area.
