Irvington Township is a densely populated township in Essex County with more than 61,000 people living in about 3 square miles. Irvington has its fair share of crime. In 2006, Irvington public high-school was ranked the lowest of all public schools by the NJ Monthly Magazine. They got their Irvington General Hospital. Garden State Parkway bisects Irvington and I-78 borders it to the east. Routes 124, 603, 619 and 665 pass through Irvington.
