Watchung gets its name from the native Indian word meaning hills. As this might suggest, it is located in the heart of the Watchung Mountain Range, along with Wetumpka Falls. Wonder if Wetumpka means waterfall .... Hundreds come for a week or two in the lap of Mother Nature. Twin Brooks Country Club and Watchung Reservation are located in Watchung. Connell Corporate Center has an establishment in the township too. I-78 and US Rt 22 are in the vicinity.
