About the area

This little village of about 250 people has an unusual tree made out of antlers located across the street from the post office. If you want to see something else special here it is the Lightning Field by sculptor Walter De Maria with its 400 stainless steel poles covering one mile. It is possible to have an overnight stay here with an advanced registration; however the only accommodations are a single cabin with three bedrooms which must be shared with other visitors to the site. The good side is the stay comes with a dinner and breakfast items. Lightning strikes are infrequent typically occurring in this area from mid-July through August.
