The Village Court is surprisingly busy in a place with such a small population. Our attorney advertiser (and founder) won a DWI trial here in spring of 2008 - the first jury trial in Menands in over 6 years. |

About the area |
Menands is a fairly small village just north of the City of Albany. It has a stretch of I-787 running through it, and the Troopers seem to love to write speeding tickets in this section. This makes Menands traffic court awfully busy. |
Hours of Operation |
Per the court website: "by appointment". The court clerk seems to be in during normal business hours, and Judge Rowley holds court at roughly 4 pm on court days. |
Judges |
Hon. Justice David C. Rowley, Hon. Acting Village Justice Peter F. Stuto. You usually see Rowley, and he treats people well. |
Prosecutors |
Village Attorney Steve Rehfuss (a great guy) handles much of the traffic work and you can work with him by mail. Troopers no longer prosecute their own tickets. Albany DA's office handles criminal matters. |
Type Of Cases |
Lots of Trooper speeding tickets from I-787. A variety of other traffic matters along with criminal and small claims. |
