About the area |
County seat since around 1800, with a couple of rivers. Originally known as Chenango Point, but renamed in late 1700s for some early money guy. In 1830s, some canals or streams got connected and that boosted area business. Railroads helped too. Several notable parks, gardens, and other stuff. Gotta be a SUNY campus somewhere around here too. |
