I-88 generates a lot of speeding tickets for this Court, and Route 7 generates more traffic matters as well as some DWI cases. |

About the area |
Nathaniel Cole, early pioneer and town namesake, built the first tavern between Albany and Binghamton around 1800. Coles Hill Cemetary, one of the oldest in the county, boasts about 25 grave markers of native stone, beautifully inscribed and engraved, & still legible, even though some date from when Broome Couny was still a wilderness. St. Luke's Episcopal Church (1799), one of the oldest surviving buildings in the county, is currently owned by the Old Onaquaga Historical Society, and renamed St. Luke's Church and Museum. Nathaniel Cole Park is approximately 2 miles from the site of his tavern. Harpursville is the largest village in the town of Colesville, formed in 1821 from Windsor, along with Ninevah, Sanitaria Springs & Vallenia Springs. Includes the Broome County Nathaniel Cole Park, with a 53 acre lake and self guided nature trails. |
