Note this is different than Kinderhook Town Court which is in Niverville. Kinderhook Village Court is held in the Village Hall, which is not in Niverville. It's on Route 9, just north of an intersection, and just south of a curve in the road. Be careful when you park and get in and out of your car. |

About the area |
Kinderhook derives from the Dutch "Children's Point". Eighth President, Martin Van Buren was born and buried in Kinderhook. Washington Irving wrote "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" while staying briefly in Kinderhook, and based several of his characters on Kinderhook residents. A lovely little village steeped in Dutch heritage and history. Eric Sundwall lives somewhere near here. He'll be famous someday ... you just watch. |
