About the area |
Valatie is Dutch for "Little Falls" for the waterfalls from the Kinderhook Creek and Valatie Kill. The village of Valatie is located in the Town of Kinderhook, on US Rte 9. Valatie is a blue collar community that is rich in history and tradition. The Mohegans were here, cotton mills, then some Irish immigrated and Governor Martin Glynn is considered a native by some. |
