About the area |
Birthplace of the healthy corset, though it may have fallen out of common use. Home of the NY Central College, which in 1849, before the Civil War, admitted both men & women, regardless of color or social station. Mosquito Creek & Trout Brook flow through town, named for Samuel McGraw, the town's first settler, whose original cabin eventually became a store and post office. Village is just east of I-81 and Cortland. |
