This village is a great area for all types of outdoor activities, and as such has a corresponding amount of violations. That's about all of this court's activity, though, besides speeding tickets issued on Rt. 8 and 30. While you're in Speculator, pay attention to the deer and moose crossing signs. People have even hit bears occasionally on the village's highways! |

About the area |
Speculator is Hamilton County's only village (pop. 348 in 2000), and sits on the north end of the beautiful Lake Pleasant-also the name of the town it's in. It has a public beach, as well as plenty of hiking and snowmobiling trails in the Adirondack Mountains. |
