Main Street is Route 20 (Western Turnpike). Esperance thrived as a major stop on journeys through western NY. But don't let its quiet country charm (which includes the hamlets of Central Bridge and Sloansville) fool you into thinking you'll slide by on a DWI or traffic violation. The Court House is just off Main Street.
About the area
Although I-88 dried up much of the traffic that flowed along the Western Turnpike/Rte 20, Esperance continues to thrive. Eastman's Cheese House continues to draw visitors, as well as the George Landis Arborterum - a 97 acre outdoor museum, with visitor guides, maps & trails, all free, open dawn to dusk daily.
