About the area |
Located at the south end of Seneca Lake, the Village of Odessa has the smallest population, but interesting history: the old Odessa Opera House also housed the local fire department; Assemblyman & later Senator D.S. Peterson was the local Methodist minister; Bob Vila of This Old House was born in Odessa; some of the original members of the OCALA Club, a \'40\'s social group for young marrieds & singles to socialize, formed a new social group in the 90s - the Odessa Luncheon, Discussion, Fine Arts Round Table Society (whose acronym says much about the humor of the group) which evolved into the current Season Seniors of Schuyler County. |
