This town is rich in minerals. Charcoal was made here and later on iron ore, and semi-precious stones. The lead mines kept the town going. Museum goers might find these gems in places in New York. Has lots of friendly people and there is something going on in the area especially in the summer. Small rural and wintry town with a population of about 787 people. Towards the Potsdam area, it is a great town to visit after seeing the area colleges. Lots of great outdoor events. |
