Port Jefferson is on the north shore of LI in the town of Brookhaven. It was once a major whaling port and ship building community. A ferry shuttles passengers and vehicles across the Long Island Sound to Bridgeport CT. In the spring & summer the downtown district by the harbor bustles with patrons enjoying the many restaurants and shops. |
