About the area |
Nutshell Arts Center is a community arts center in Hortonville where many artists from NYC have displayed their work. During the summer these artists have taken vacations in Hortonville and found Nutshell Arts Center. There is also a Weekend Chamber Music Series that provides entertainment to the town. Displays of the Delaware river here are a subject that many of the artists focus on. They sit by the river and paint the rapids. Many of these landscape artists are known to vacation in the area and have houses and camps as a second home. Hortonville also attracts many canoers and kayakers that like to brave the rapids themselves. Hortonville is also known for its fishing. Flyfisherman and rod and reel come from all over the state and take advantage of the Delware waters. Many different kinds of fish can be found here and the local eateries have specialties that include fish. The town of Hortonville and the Cochecton area is beautiful and the Delaware river is part of that. |
