The Ulysses Town Court is in the Town Hall, just off Rte 96 (Main St East); consists of the Village of Trumansburg & the hamlets of Jacksonville, Halsyville, Krum's Corners, Podunk, Waterburg & Willow Creek.
About the area
The Trumansburg 2nd Baptist Society of Ulysses, built circa 1850, is now a Conservatory of the Arts, a museum, school & theatre; an archaeological site is located in Halsyville; both are on the National Register of Historic Places. The Cooper Inn (1823) of Jacksonville was once a stop on the Ithaca & Geneva turnpike for stagecoaches - as well as part of the Underground Railroad. Formerly an inn, ballroom, post office, and currenly apartments, In the 1880's, the Town Supervisor was tied to a tree by a group of white masked & capped vigilantes who gave him a thrashing - for beating his wife.
