Known as "the Sault" and "the Soo", this community in the province of Ontario has an estimated population of 75000 inhabitants. Sharing frontiers with Rankin, Prince Township, and Algoma Aweres; this land incorporated in the 1910s has a total land area of more than 275 square miles of extension. Called in the past "Baawitigong", this corner of Ontario supports its economy in forestry, call center, commercial, and other minor industries. Connected by Highway 17, this territory is full of interesting and attractive spots including Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site, Casino Sault Ste Marie, and Canadian Bushplace Heritage Centre. Home of the Bon Soo winter carnival, this city is attended by the Algoma District School Board and the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board.
