County seat of Clearflied located on the West Branch of the Susquehanna, was so named because large areas of this land supposedly were cleared of their undergrowth by buffalo. Proud father of the Houston Astros pitcher Doug Brocali, and home of the Dennys Beer Barrel Pub opened back in 1970s by Denny Liegey, where locals and visitors from Plymptonville, Hyde, and Curwensville get the best burgers in Pennsylvania.
