About the area

Gainesboro was a major attraction for long hunters since the 1770. Even today several people come here and camp in the woods for hunting. Most of the travelers lodged in Fort Blount. Today the Fort Blount is a museum and attraction. Gainesboro is known for the picturesque camp grounds and also the lovely trekking sites. The Duck River also passes through the edges of the city.
