Named for the Indian tribe, this community in Texas State is part of the Jacksonville metro area and also a puzzle piece of the Tyler–Jacksonville combined area. Home of portion of the Neches River National Wildlife Refuge, this territory was established in the 1840s with a total extension of 1062 square miles in a very strategic zone nowadays connected by nice major highways including U.S. Highway 175, State Highway 204, and State Highway 294. More than 16650 households, close to 12110 families, and approximately 46660 residents call Cherokee County their home.
