Irrigated by Holly Pond, Hickory Branch, Bee Creek, and Marschall Creek among other rivers and lakes; this community has been blessed with a rich culture diversity coming from its racial makeup of White Non Hispanic, Latino, Native American, and other racial groups. Situated in west central Texas, this land is part of the Edwards Plauteau with fertile soils, broken hills, and lovely scenery zones irrigated by the clear waters of the Pedernales River. Named after Robert Addison Gillespie, this county was founded in the late 1840s sharing borderlines with Mason County on its northwestern portion, Llano County on its northeastern portion, and other counties connected to the heart of Gillespie by the Interstate 10, US Highway 87, US Highway 290, and FM Road 783.
