About the area |
Kelso is situated where the Cowlitz, Coweeman and Columbia Rivers meet. In 1998 Kelso was the scene of one of the worst urban landslides in U.S. history. It caused 40 million dollars of damage thought to have been caused by 3 1/2 years of above average rainfall. Many watercraft lovers from Longview-Kelso come to the Coweeman River for the whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling. Isn't there something called a cowlick? Is this the plural? Okay, probably not.
