About the area

This community is listed on the National Register of Historic Places due to its 19th century buildings from the time of the Swiss settlers. It is on State Highway 35, known as the Great River Road (Mississippi River). Buena Vista Park offers a great view of the Mississippi River and the lock and dam may be from from the center of town. It's a great place for shopping, fishing, bird watching . Walleye are plentiful here and so are bald eagles.
