About the area

The Courthouse built in 1891 is a most imposing site. Monroe is known for its fine cheeses and is the "Swiss Cheese Capital of the U.S.A. The Minhas Brewery here is the second oldest in the nation. The former railroad corridors have been turned into trails for biking, hiking and snowmobiling. Four member of the squad for narcotics control have won an award for narcotics enforcement.
