About the area

What else would you expect at an apple festival except the usual pageantry besides an apple pie contest, apple arrangements contest and the Apple growers contest where awards are given for the best plate of five apples. Well the Mountain State Apple Harvest festival held in this city each April has all of that. In addition there is live musical entertainment, dancing at the Friday Night in the Square held at the Downtown Square Pedestrian plaza, Panhandlers Square dance, Grand Ball and the great Pancake breakfast Saturday morning sponsored by the Kiwanis club. Besides the Cruise-in/car show there is the Apple Harvest Festival Grand Feature parade staged by the Lions Club.
