Wheeling Municipal Court

The residents of Wheeling have some marvelous roads to travel on; IS 70, IS 470, US 40, US 250, SR 2 and SR 7.

Wheeling founded around 1769 and incorporated sixty seven years later has plenty of entertaining things to do and see. The town had its start with the establishment of Fort Henry. In the early 1880's, Wheeling became a popular frontier town with the Ohio river and the arrival of the National Road, earlier in the 19th century, bringing trade to the city. In the latter part of the 19th century several industries such as iron and steel mills, glass works and cigar factories were established in the city. The manufacture of cut iron nails became a significant part of Wheeling’s economy leading the city to be called the "nail capital of the world." The Capitol theater is the scene of concerts from September through April. The Wheeling Symphony presents orchestral programs throughout the season. Kids will get a kick out of visiting the Children's Museum of the Ohio Valley where they can play with puppets, blocks, costumes, glue, and more.
