In order to attract major motion pictures, television documentaries, commercials, and independent filmmakers; the Mississippi Film Studios have been started at Canton. Beginning in the 1990's the Canton Convention and Visitors Bureau and Canton Film Office have been building an experienced crew base for film production. Phase One of this effort has been completed was the erection of a 36,000 square foot sound stage, office space and a suite of production support services at a site set aide for this purpose.
