Marmaduke District Court is one of the state district courts in Greene county. This court meets in the same building as the Paragould Circuit, County and District courts. US 49 and SR 34 meet in Marmaduke.

About the area

Cotton, lumber and the railroad were significant factors in the establishment of this town. Around 1863, Confederate general Marmaduke and his troops established a camp near where the town is now located. The Cotton Belt railroad, established after the Civil War placed depots at Marmaduke and Paragould to handle the large quantities handled by the railroad. As a result three cotton gins were built in Marmaduke, providing work and trade to the people in town.
