The Nevada County Depot and museum is located in what was once the Iron Mountain Railroad depot.
Passenger service from the Prescott Depot was suspended around 1968 and the city purchased the building. A few years later the Prescott Chamber of Commerce moved into the building to establish it as a museum. The building is now on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum's exhibits include a replica of a pioneer cabin, Civil War artifacts, the early history of Nevada county, Civil War battles fought in the area and the history of the railroad in Nevada County. There is also a display of photographs of life in Nevada County from the 1930's and 1940's which is continually changed. The Battle of Prairie DeAnn Civil War site and the Battle of Moscow Civil War site and are depicted in exhibits at the museum. If you get excited about drag racing, the Prescott Raceway is the place for you.
