Lake View lies along Old Town (Bull Shoals) lake. Settlers who were of Scots-Irish and German descent first came to this area from the eastern and southern areas of the United States around 1881; however the town was not established until the 1940's. Much of its economy is bases on tourism. Residents and visitors have available to them facilities for swimming, scuba diving, water skiing, boating and power skiing.
