Interstate 15 and Interstate 40, Route 66, interstates 15 and 40, and highways 58 and 247 intersect in Barstow

Barstow is a major intersection point because several state highways and interstates pass through this city. It is also a prime area for accidents so much so that it is difficult to get an appointment at the traffic court in this city and is also the busiest department of the city. Barstow for some reason has been the most mentioned name in many popular Hollywood songs and even bands like Black eyed peas, Sheryl crow have mentioned Barstow in their songs. Being located right outside the Mojave National Reserve this is an ideal stay location for Mojave visitors. Fort Irwin located in this city is also the official center for training the United States Army. Interstate 15 and 40, route 66, highways 58 and 247 all converge here and have been creating havoc for ages now. The city also attracts a lot of shopping addicts because of its Tangler outlets and Barstow outlet malls. The city is rich with natural attractions like Rainbow Basin which existed a few millions of years ago has eroded now and become a basin with rich colored sedimentary rocks. Of course the Mojave National preserve needs a special mention and the city also is the entry point to the Mojave Desert. The Afton Canyon is no lesser than the Grand Canyon in beauty and adventure and deserves a special mention in the American Tourist Guide. We don’t know why rocks and UFOs from space land only in America but do witness the second largest meteorite that ever fell on earth in the Old Woman springs Meteorite center.
