About the area

Citrus County offers several sites for leisurely activities. Fort Cooper State park has available for rental paddle boats and canoes. The park has hiking trails as well and is also partly an animal refuge. Lake Holathlikaha is located in the park and is a great location for fishing. Two other sites, Tsala Apopka Lake and Henderson Lake, are good locations for fishing. A relaxing afternoon is possible somewhere in the area.
For some reason there seems to be a connection with Jackie Gleason and Inverness in the popular consciousness. And maybe it's the name, but we think they might grow oranges and grapefruit in Citrus County.
