Hearings are held at this court for Traffic infractions which are commited between mile markers zero and 35. Traffic infractions are not heard every day of the week; for further information see court calendar.
Monroe County Court and Circuit Court also holds hearings for Criminal, Misdemeanor, Felony and Civil cases. There are other locations for the county courts, both in the rest of the Keys and on the southwestern part of mainland FL.

Key West is the county seat of Monroe county. The city is the furthest city south in the United States. Roads US 1 and State Road A1A end in Key West. It is home to a Naval Air station and a United States Military reservation. It is a recreational haven for Floridians as well as visitors from the rest of the US and the world. Key West offers great opportunities for sight seeing with an abundance of historic houses art galleries and funky bars.
The courthouse is located at the southwest tip of Key West island. Some say that Key West is home to a somewhat alternative culture in the US, and they're not just talking about Jimmy Buffett.
