About the area

The town grew around the Masonic Lodge in the 1860's and 1870's. Apopka is a lovely small town with a diverse population of age and races. With it's plant growers concentrating on a trade in tropical plants; Apopka has become known as the Indoor Foliage Capital of the world. Nearby Wekiva Springs State park offers locations for weekend camping trips and paths for a leisurely hike. Canoeists and kayakers can paddle on the Wekiva river. Apopka lake is to the southeast.
Lots of lakes near Apopka and all around this area just north of Orlando.
