Clearwater is a major city on the West Coast of Florida. Increasing crime in the form of prostitution, drug dealing and street violence are plaguing some of the cities better neighborhoods. A signicant number of families are below the poverty level. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater International airport is located near the court. This field was a military flight training center during World War II. It now offers direct service to convenient locations throughout the United States and is a major Coast Guard base. Downtown Coachman Park hosts a Jazz holiday each October which features world reknowned jazz artists and is in its 29th year.
