About the area

This town is a johnny come lately; having been incorporated around 1963. It started with two military barracks, a campground, and five businesses and grew to one paved road, a mobile home court, ten businesses and twelve street lights. The arrival of 1st Division moved to Ft. Riley around 1955 necessitated more housing and this town of mobile homes. At present the older mobile homes are being replaced by newer double wide mobile homes, modular homes, contractor built homes and town houses.
