About the area
Marysville was the first home station on the Pony Express in Kansas. A museum now stands in the original stables for the horses which still remains. The museum's exhibits besides representing the Pony Express history also now include trails and railroads, to depict Marysville's wider historic importance as a transportation hub. There is a bronze statue of a Pony Express horse and rider in the city's Pony Express Plaza.
