The town provides plenty of sites for athletic activities. There are baseball, softball, and t-ball fields and a pro-size sand volleyball court on the West side of town. If you get tired of watching the ball games bring your horseshoes to the horseshoe pits located adjacent to the ball fields. There are three soccer fields South of the community center where Albany's soccer league games are played. It's probably a lot of fun to watch the games so feel free to bring a chair and park yourself on the sidelines. Just a short distance East of town is a beautiful 9 hole golf course at the Albany Golf Club. In addition to which, funded by a grant from the Department of Natural Resources, a trail has been built connecting the soccer fields, Aquatic Center and Community Center. This trail is available for use by runners, walkers and all non-motorized pedestrian traffic including strollers, bicycles and skaters.
