Some Spanish Land Grants for the Dardenne Prairie area are dated as early as the end of the 18th century. It was bordered on the South by Dardenne Creek and by the first decade of the 19th century
mills for grinding grain lined the shores of both branches of the creek. A monument to the fallen soldiers on both sides of the Civil War sits in Georgetown Park located at the corner of Feise and Henke Road. Barathaven park has trails, a 15-acre lake and recreational fields. The new Dardenne Prairie City Hall park is equipped with a band stand pavilion and amphitheater and a spray ground play ground which is agreat place for the kids to cool off in the Summertime. There is also a Family Pavilion, located near the playground areas, equipped with picnic tables.
