About 5 miles to the Southeast of Ackerman; the Choctaw Lake Recreation area situated between Cabin Lake and Choctaw Lake has great facilities for picnicking, biking, hiking, fishing, bird-watching and swimming. There are also boat ramps and sites for overnight camping. What's not to enjoy? With Choctaw Lake stocked with bream, crappie, largemouth bass, and catfish fishing is particularly good here.
