IS 55 skirts the Western edge of town and you can get to it by traveling on West Jackson Street which also meets US 51 just about in the center of town.

About the area

The town's newly expanded Bike trail parallels The Natchez Trace Parkway for 10 miles. The Bike trail goes from the Ross Barnett Reservoir Overlook to the Renaissance shopping center. The reservoir covering almost 33,000 acres is a great place for sailing, boating, fishing, and its wonderful scenic view. The city has provided other sites for outdoor recreation at its parks; Freedom Ridge, Friendship and Wolcott which are equipped with playgrounds, fitness trails and sports fields. The two year Holmes Community college has a campus in Ridgeland. This institution offers Associate in Arts degree, Associate in Applied Science degree, and Career certificates and the opportunity to take courses on line.
