About the area

In addition to four local parks in Batesville, residents can travel a short distance South to Enid Lake to find recreational opportunities. There are picnic pavilions, swimming beaches and campgrounds located here. George Payne Cossar State Park located on the edge of the lake has rental cabins, swimming pool, putt-putt golf, visitor's center and a non-frisby golf course and most of the land around the lake is open for public hunting. Fishing here is excellent with large crappie in abundance.
