Two government buildings in Mendenhall reflect the heritage of the city. The Courthouse which was built in the latter part of the first decade of the 20th century was designed after the United States Capital and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its floors are a mosaic and the style of the courtroom is of a bygone era. City Hall was originally the historic "Thames House", built at the beginning of the 20th century, which was restored in the early 1990's and donated to the City of Mendenhall.
