Fergus County Court is more formally known as the Tenth District Court of Fergus county in the Montana judicial district system.

About the area

Fergus County was created around 1885 by the Montana Legislative Assembly. However the original county boundaries did not remain as they were at the time of its creation. It was carved up into Musselshell, Petroleum, Judith Basin, Wheatland, Golden Valley counties and the present Fergus County. Big game and bird hunting, fishing, camping biking, hiking, skiing and outdoor recreation opportunities are plentiful in the beautiful Judith Basin in which Lewistown sits.
